This GoHighLevel tutorial covers AI Super Agents — a feature that lets you build an agent that researches, writes, schedules, and posts content on its own, fed by a knowledge base you control. Here’s how to turn the feature on, build your first agent from a dictated prompt, and get it running daily without babysitting it.
What are GoHighLevel AI Super Agents?
GoHighLevel AI Super Agents are agents that go beyond answering questions — they can research topics, write and schedule social posts, draft email campaigns, and moderate a community by tapping into GoHighLevel’s own tools directly. Once built, a Super Agent plugs itself straight into the social planner, forms, calendars, and other native features.
Super Agents sit on top of the regular Ask AI and voice/chat agent builders. Instead of just answering questions, a Super Agent can actually do things inside your account — research topics, write and schedule social posts, draft email campaigns, moderate a community, and more. It has access to GoHighLevel’s own tools under the hood. So when you build one, it plugs itself straight into the social planner, forms, calendars, and other native features.
Here’s the thing: this is still a beta feature. I ran into bugs while testing it, and you will too. Stick with it — the practical use cases underneath are worth the friction.
How do I enable AI Super Agents in GoHighLevel?
The feature isn’t turned on by default. You have to flip it on at the agency level first:
- Go to your agency view
- Open Settings
- Scroll down to Labs
- Click Sub Accounts
- Find “AI Agent Suite / Super Agent”
- Use the bulk action to enable access for all your customers, then hit Save
Once that’s saved, go back into any regular sub-account. You’ll now see AI Agents in the left nav, and inside that, Agent Studio — that’s where Super Agents live.
How do you build a Super Agent from a dictated prompt?
Inside Agent Studio, start by creating a folder to keep your agents organized — I called mine “test agents.” Then create your first agent using dictation instead of typing everything out by hand.
I dictated something close to this: build a social media manager agent for a home services company called Nuno’s Home Services, a construction business doing bathrooms, kitchens, and remodeling. Its job is to create and schedule posts that generate new business.
From that one prompt, the agent built itself out — triggers, connected apps, web search enabled, and access to GoHighLevel’s full toolset (over 400 tools across features, with the social planner alone giving it 60+ actions it could take). That’s the part that actually makes this useful: it’s not just chatting, it’s plugged into the same tools you’d use manually.
Why a knowledge base matters more than the prompt
The single biggest lever for quality here is the knowledge base. Give the agent details on services, pricing, tone of voice, years in business — everything you can think of — and the output gets noticeably better. If you’re not confident writing that yourself, use ChatGPT to draft a knowledge base document first, then paste it into the agent’s knowledge base section as rich text and save it to train.
Once that knowledge base was loaded, the agent had brand positioning, content pillars, posting strategy, and lead-quality standards built in — all before it wrote a single post.
How do you schedule a Super Agent to run daily?
This part of the update landed while I was actually filming — GoHighLevel shipped agent scheduling in real time. Inside your agent, add a trigger, choose Schedule, and set a start date and time (I set mine for 10 AM). Once that’s saved and published, the agent runs on its own on that cadence.
One catch: when you schedule a task, you need to rewrite the instructions specifically for that scheduled job. A social-media-manager prompt built for one-off requests doesn’t translate cleanly to “run every day.” Be explicit — I told mine to research high-converting topics daily and generate posts for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn to promote the business and share expertise. Keep scheduled agents narrow and single-purpose rather than reusing a general-purpose agent for a recurring job.
“Here’s the crazy part about the whole thing — you can create unlimited agents, one that works off a schedule, one that does pretty much anything else.”
Can you trigger an onboarding agent from a form submission?
Yes, and this is where it gets interesting for agencies. You can build an agent whose trigger is “form submitted” instead of a schedule. I set one up to act as an onboarding agent: when a customer fills out a form with their business name, website, and email, the agent researches their business, then creates a voice AI agent and a chat AI agent for them automatically.
To wire this up, you have to select an existing form in the agent’s trigger settings — you can’t leave it blank. I pointed mine at an internal onboarding form, filled it out with test data, and submitted it. Back in Agent Studio, the agent picked up the submission and started running, visibly working through website research, lead qualification steps, and draft scripts.
The honest gotcha
It doesn’t fully work yet. In my test, the onboarding agent did all the research and planning — website analysis, entry lead qualification, sample scripts, a full launch checklist — but it couldn’t actually create the physical voice and chat agents at the end. Those specific actions aren’t available to it yet. Same story with the social scheduling agent: it told me it had scheduled posts even without a connected social account, which is a false positive, not a real confirmation. Treat anything Super Agents report back with a healthy dose of “verify it actually happened,” because in beta it will sometimes tell you it did something it didn’t.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a paid GoHighLevel plan to use AI Super Agents?
There’s a cost tied to AI usage on the account, separate from your base subscription. If you’re not already on a plan that includes AI credits, you’ll need to add that before Super Agents will run.
Is this the same as the regular Ask AI or voice/chat agent builder?
No. Ask AI and standard voice/chat agents mostly answer questions. Super Agents can take action — posting to social, updating contacts, writing campaigns — because they’re connected to GoHighLevel’s native tools and triggers like form submissions and schedules.
Can Super Agents be turned into snapshots for clients?
Not yet, but it’s been signaled as coming. Once that lands, you’ll be able to package a working Super Agent — onboarding, social management, whatever you’ve built — directly into a snapshot for new client accounts.
Why did my scheduled agent say it posted when it didn’t?
This is a known beta quirk. The agent can report a false positive because it doesn’t always know whether a downstream action (like a connected social account) actually completed. Always double-check the result rather than trusting the confirmation message while this feature is in beta.
